Clean Bandit and Demi Lovato's 'Solo' is this week's UK number one single

After a close battle last week, Clean Bandit and Demi Lovato have made it to the top of the UK singles charts with their summer bop ‘Solo’.

The track is Clean Bandit’s fourth number one, following on from ‘Rather Be’ with Jess Glynne, ‘Rockabye’ with Anne-Marie and Sean Paul, and ‘Symphony’ with Zara Larsson.

‘Solo’, however, marks Demi’s first ever UK number one single, with ‘Heart Attack’ being her previous personal best, reaching number three in 2013.

Alongside reaching number one today, Clean Bandit and Demi will be celebrating twice over as it was also announced that ‘Solo’ has been Brit Certified Silver.

Elsewhere on the chart, George Ezra’s latest offering ‘Shotgun’ climbs to number two, equalling his personal chart best in terms of singles. Anne-Marie stays put at number three with ‘2002’, whilst last week’s number one, Jess Glynne’s ‘I’ll Be There’, drops to number four. Ariana Grande stays put at number five for another week.

Over on the album charts, The Greatest Showman Soundtrack spends an incredible 20th non-consecutive week at number one. The album is also approaching the one million combined sales mark.

5 Seconds of Summer’s new album Youngblood debuts at three, whilst Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s surprise release enters at number five.
