Hull City sign former Fulham midfielder Jean Michael Seri

Former Fulham midfielder Jean Michael Seri has signed for Hull City on a free transfer.

The 30-year-old joins after the expiry of his Fulham contract, having played at Craven Cottage from between 2018 and 2022.

Seri, who has 42 caps for Ivory Coast, started 33 games in the Championship for Marco Silva’s title-winning side last season. He was reformed under Silva, swapping an advanced No 8 position for a deeper No 6 role.

His arrival at Hull is subject to the granting of a work permit.

Fulham had the option to extend Seri’s contract, but did not choose to exercise the extra year.

Hull were taken over by Turkish businessman Acun Ilicali for £20 million in January, who appointed Georgian coach Shota Arveladze as manager. They finished 19th in the Championship last season.

The Athletic revealed last week that Brentford had made a £20 million bid for their star winger Keane Lewis-Potter.

Ilicali claimed in May that he would turn down a bid of £30 million for the youth academy product.
